I remember father as being strong and brave,
A true and honest gentle man,
A noble man who gave
The very best he had to give, and lived accordingly
With what he taught we children,
Who saw his dignity.
Though quiet in his manner, he stood for right and truth,
Defending and protecting
With all the strength of youth.
We felt his love and wisdom, and listened quietly,
As he related messages
From all eternity.
He was a loving father, a loving husband, too,
He also was a loving friend,
A friend to me and you.
He's gone to live with angels, and loved ones gone before,
And waits to bid us "welcome home,"
Upon that glorious shore.
His life was an example of faith and hope and prayer,
And heavenly connections,
Which he was glad to share.
