Donald Charles Woodbury

Dear family: Here is a poem I wrote and shared with some of Uncle Don's family at the funeral Monday. Just thought you might like a copy of it. Have a wonderful day, and know that we love you. Jim and Betty Lee

Donald Charles Woodbury, my mother’s brother here,
Has joined his friends and family
In heaven’s atmosphere.

He’s gone to carry on the work of Heavenly Father there,
Where Springtime is forever,
And skies are always fair.
His mission here is over, although his love remains
Within the hearts of loved ones,
To help endure the pains.
He served in many callings, and was a friend to all,
And a loving friend and brother,
And Uncle, I recall.
His numerous posterity shall miss his loving touch,
And gentle-hearted counsel
Which meant so very much.
But he has gone to be with his friends and family,
And many who preceded him
Into eternity.
He left behind, a legacy, a legacy of love,
In hopes that we would join him
In mansions up above,
To join his sweetheart, Mary, who’s waited for him there,
To welcome him with open arms,
And love beyond compare.
The two of them will welcome you when it’s your turn to go
Beyond the veil of sorrows,
And let their lovelight show.
Until that time, God bless you, and comfort you each day,
And through the months and years ahead,
In Jesus name, we pray.
With love and sincere sympathy in the loss of your father, grandfather,
great-grandfather, Uncle and friend.

Son of Jennie May Woodbury Lee, Uncle Don’s sister
